Based on the technology accumulated through participation in planning and designing a wide variety of national roads and expressways, the department is conducting feasibility studies and basic and detailed design of major national highways and local roads. Furthermore, it is taking the lead in establishing 3D design techniques such as landscape analysis and virtual driving, and realizing advanced road systems such as ubiquitous-based ITS (Intelligent Transportation System), AHS (Advanced Road System), and Smart Road.
